i want to do some vox like this, can someone help?

Those aren't effects producing this sound (although is was probably altered with EQ or something). This is called 'growling' and it's the way most death/grind metal bands sing. The idea is to sing with you stomack or something. I haven't tried it so I can't say, but you might want to look up bands such as Cannibal Corpse or Dying Fetus. Those have some extreme vocalists.

If I remember correctly someone posted a growling tutorial on ultimateguitar.com forums (look it up).

no, i dont think so

Whowever it is needs a doctor, and fast.

Sounds to me it could well be just funny growling. If they did use any FX, you could maybe get that type of sound with some very extreme pitching and/or timestretching. Or some kind of extreme formant filtering (100% wet). It's a thought, at least. :?

i heared something about "harmonizers", what can this be...

Well I know so :)

I can assure you that these types of vocals don't use any effects, because I've seen many bands like this live and have friends that play similar music.
No band like this would ever use pitch shifting, timestretching, harmonizers or any other effects on vocals except overdubs. This is considered "untrue" in "the scene" :)

You could probably get a similar sound with effects, but if these bands don't sound like this live...

Hmmmm... Vikernes.....and knows about singing Black Metal...

this is not death metal, varg, this is goregrind, no limits here, and CBT uses fx, be sure!

I believe your both right. Many growlers would never think of using effects as there is a sort of true to talent hand-shake deal, but many of the demons in this growing genre says F it I'll do what I want. A friend of mine is absolutely nuts about these bands so I.ve seen many live shows including his shows. You might be surprised at how many of these "throaters" can do this without effects.
To my own experience I've needed this sound in a few cartoons I've done and you can pretty well duplicate the effect about any sampler or wave editor.
Start with a good sample of a vocal that's well defined and quality. Then pitchshift down preserving timestretch. Give some good EQ and a little chorus helps detail. From there you can figure it out. If not let me know and I'll help you out.
Just be warned that persuing this may lead to obsessive behavior with the media, tight jeans, jail time, and just mabye kissing a shot gun(Varg).

Pitch shifting. Nothing else.

Heh. It's just an alias/nick... I don't have a big imagination when it comes to picking a nick :)

It's true I don't know much about grind, but I thought "the rules" were the same as in blak/death metal.
