The Zvon Spacetalk free sample set

This set was originally meant to be part of our Sidekick electronic percussion set. But I thought that even if the Sidekick set was very eclectic with sound categories as Hard hits, kicks, snares, toms, metal hits, various FX, etc., the Spacetalk did not exactly fit in it. Mainly because the sounds have a longer duration and are less percussive.

The key range is from C1 to D#3 (where middle C is C3). All keys except the first one, have velocity layers.

I finally decided to release it as a freebie so here it is. I hope that you will enjoy it.

Glad you like it and I do think it's fun.

Thank you. :)

Tip: Most of these samples are long and their character change over their lenght. Try playing or sequencing them with various note durations and velocities.

In case someone's wondering, the name of these sounds was chosen 6 months ago. When I started this thread, I realised that Spacetalk looks a bit like Spacehawk. But there's absolutely no relation. I choose that name before I learned about it and because to me these samples sound like space talking or aliens talking in space.

Update on the Spacetalk soundfont status.

Someone just brought to my attention the thread about the new version of Krakli Cygnus. Below are some quotes from it where my Spacetalk sf2 is mentionned and my reply.

Sorry...they were a just a quick glimpse of a Constellation, I guess...

Spacetalk has been kind of discontinued for a while but I will make it available again tomorrow, at least for a few days. I will post the new download link in this thread and in the new Cygnus thread.

Spacetalk and Constellation are 2 different products. Spacetalk is only one program mapped from C1 to D#3 and the samples are not looped. Constellation has 31 programs and more than half of them are looped.

I still have to try the new Cygnus but I am pretty sure that at least my other M42 soundfonts (Julie M42 and Horn M42) will sound good in it. You can check them out here:

Thank you
