@kingston: okay I see you have done your homework in school, you even know 1+1=2
I`m sure you got excellent grades in math. but if you ever did some kind of coding you would know that it is a little more complex. But at least 1+1=2 is a good starting point. haha
@jens: tell me what drugs you are taking? And I`ll consider taking them too at that point in my life when I wanna bring my brain to "absolut-zero-level".
One question: is that animal in the picture a realtive of yours?
At least I`ll get what you both meant to say....
But you did not not get what I was meaning:
while we all know 1+1=2
(and rats have no wings), there may be a programmer that is working for a bigger DAW firm and that writes code where 1+1=3, and these errors summed on every channel may result in a strange behaviour....
Its not hard to image that you could programm a game where rats have wings...
A PC is a virtual things, and it also can produce unrealistic phenomens....

Probably the same ones you took when you decided to resurrect a year old thread, then...hifiboom wrote: tell me what drugs you are taking? And I`ll consider taking them too at that point in my life when I wanna bring my brain to "absolut-zero-level".

Ceenda, I don't use drugs
- it was actually just a metaphor that was supposed to be funny - but it appears you don't like metaphors...

Think McFly, think!hifiboom wrote:but if you ever did some kind of coding you would know that it is a little more complex.
(I am a coder, among other audio software related things)
Look mate, you just made a new discovery. Now you need to reseach *why* you see what's happening.
Just don't fight against hard boiled DSP professionals about your false conclusions. And don't fight against coding rules that have been estabilished far before you were born.
You're barking at the wrong tree. And you have some learning to do.

Of course, and sorry but I just couldn't resist...jens wrote:

The only reason for me to come back to this year old thread is to see if somebody finally decided to put up (I first thought that was the reason it was resurected), just out of curiosity.
Like Kingston said, it wouldn't be so hard to do for somebody with access to a bunch of different host. I don't have such access, I only have EXT and Vegas at this point since I'm selling my Tracktion license, and Vegas won't even handle midi, otherwise I'd do it myself.

Hey Biff
you get me laughing more and more....
"hard boiled DSP professionals"?
you try to tell me - just beacause of 1+1=2 and the architecture of microprocessors...- that its not possible to do faults in coding.....
then I am sure you never wrote a single line in any language....
this would be the proof that every digital plug-in/software or what ever sound perfect......

yup, you get far more attention than you'd actually deserve - but sometimes I enjoy taking a few miles' walk for a bit of good fun...

hifiboom, if you really want to help: please let Steinberg know on their forum that their audio engine is faulty! Thousands will be forever thankful that SX finally gets that airy air in its mixdowns...
Afterwards, post the same on the Nuendo forum.
Or if you wanna make some profffesionäl buisnees money code a "SX+Nuendo anti-wobble air refreshener".

Exactly. And now in your confusion you expand to other things that do not belong here. We're talking about summing.hifiboom wrote:this would be the proof that every digital plug-in/software or what ever sound perfect......
Now go find out why it is perfect.
You could, for example, sum about 1000 audio files together (the code is easy to write), and measure the truncation distortion. Or you could search KVR, and find out the conclusion (as it has been done in several forms on this very forum).
From now on, you shall be called Mr. Placebo
Also, refer to my sig for further clarification.

no problem
b.t.w.: I'd be interested in valid results just as much... (even if no possible result could ever persuade me to switch sequencers
