mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........This is more the control of the sequencer I was thinking more from a dj perspective with cross faders and volume balances..
I also need the sound card to be albe to have the dj mute for one ear listening to music and the cue listening to the tune coming in.

I am no DJ and i did'nt quite get what you wan't but that won't stop me from trying.
But in Live you can listen in headphones without it going out in the PA. And you can crossfade stuff also.
But i'll guess the faders is the wrong way around for that on the M Audio.

That loooks pritty cool and nice and cheap but what about a sound card to go with it I understand that the sound card has to be very specific I think m audio has one so thatI can listen to the tune while cueing the next one up any idea what is is..

Live, regardless of soundcard, will let you do that!!
You'll need a soundcard with 2 stereo outs , 1 main and 1 for the cue.

So how would this little thing connect up then to my laptop..............Would it just be phono in and out to and from the laptop then the midi in and out to my keyboard....
What about my speakers if there were either phono or jack plug connections..
Not familiar with that m audio as mine is 2496

Is the Hercules DjConsole an option for you? USB soundcard with a lay-out of a mixing deck. Plus you don't need to buy Ableton Live because it comes with an excellent Dj Mixing program. Of course there is always something to wish for. The ASIO drivers were not all that but a new update seems an important improvement. Anyway for dj-ing it is very well suited.
