Ooh old piano oddly I was just hunting around for this sound today.
Thanks I won't be able to get to this til later but I'm sure a lot of folks will appreciate it.

I´ll do a check on that Darren Guy, lets hear what he can do with the kettels ! :D
Tx mate !

These samples sound good, but I'm not sure if I downloaded the correct file: the rar file I downloaded seems to have only one velocity layer for each note. Is that the correct file?

Good samples ! I´ve just used the bongos in my latest song. Here´s the link, at The Auditorium, go and get it ! It´s free, just as your samples !

yeah, i only did the one layer ... i use them mainly for background chords ... i'm not really a great piano player ... i just add some velocity in the sampler for "expression"

Darren is a mate of mine ... i think i'm the only person who's recorded him recently. He did some drumming in a band called CRANE about 15 years ago...and he played on both of Ashfelt's CD's. We're working on some new tracks at the moment ... so i'll be putting some more of his drum grooves on the site in the near future 8) I posted a live set a few days ago that features some of his beats ... here

cheers ... we recorded them in a large empty room in this abanded fun fair near where i used to live (sounds like the scenario for a scooby doo adventure) :hihi: so, the reverb on the bongos is completely natural ... i used my Tascam 244 4-track cassette recorder and Shure SM58 and Audio Technica Pro4H mics ...

Hate to look the gift horse in the mouth, but it would be really great if you spent another two hours and did another layer or two--one soft and one very hard. This would greatly improve the sample set. (The samples you gave us are great. I'd like to be able to use this sound for a solo.)

But thanks for the samples, regardless.

i'd love to oblige jake... but unfortunatly it just isn't possible.
The piano samples were all recorded on 4 track cassette in 1997, then sampled on a Yamaha A3000 in 1998, and then converted to WAV format in 2004. I don't have access to those pianos anymore ... but i will be uploading some more synth and drum loops soon 8)
