Well, I've held off till now. I moved everything upstairs now that my eldest has left home.

It's still not perfect but I'm happy with the new desk and will tweak it over the coming weeks...

I had the tabletop version - it's by far my favorite outboard synthesizer for writing with (I work really well with the sequencer  )

I bought the keyboard version as they're somewhat limited and I wanted to see if it (as many people say) really does add alot to the working environment with it - the joystick is specifically interconnected to the machine itself as far as paramaters and performance.

The conclusion - the keyboard version is FANTASTIC. But now that I have two of them, i'll work with them and see if having two is a cool thing, otherwise I'll sell the tabletop version on :D

As for what I've written with it - almost all of my live improv sets from last year are based on it, and all of the new album for The Wretch was demod on the monomachine

And as for what's housed in the studio:

how do you like the Carlo Robelli 12 string (seen it in your gear list)? i've tried them out at Sam ash, they had trhee of them, but they all had different broken and strangly tuned strings...if serious, i'd bring a tuner in and such...(i gotta 12 string thread going, more info there...)
KVR: come for the music, stay for the polemics and grammar lessons...

It sucks more than life itself and I have every intention of replacing it ASAP - most likely with an electric though:

but yeah, the action is shit, the bridgepins are shit, the neck is shit, the frets are shit, but I only bought it to mic it and run it through a bunch of effects, so it's done the trick so far :hihi:

honestly - unless by some strange turn of faith you find one that is playable, buy any other brand but Carlo Robelli :D

digitalmessiah, your studio is simple, clean and elegant. I like it.

Curious, though, about the picture you have hanging above the monitor. I know it is a picture of Reaktor 4 but there looks like a seam down the middle. Was this the flattened box for R4 that you had mounted, or was it the covers of the manual?... :hihi:

thanks :) . thats what my friends say, too - that it's simple and uncluttered. the wiring in the back is clean also. about the hanged picture :hihi: , it's one of those brochure that you can get at GC. i happen to have an extra frame and the middle of the room was kinda empty. so i replace the picture with the R4 and put it on there. dont have the actual R4 software though..
