Logic 7.2 sucks

The bug known as SIDS (sudden instrument death syndrome) is still around in 7.2.
I installed it this morning and after 10 minutes my EVP 88 track just died and the only way to get it back to play was reloading the song.
So in case any of you was ready to spend some money hoping for a fix you better invest it in a couple of aspirins........
RU with me?

so just because of that bug Logic sucks?
you must have a hard time finding anything that doesn't suck

Well, if it's a known issue with an instrument that *only* works with and is part of Logic, that's a bad sign.spaceman wrote:so just because of that bug Logic sucks?

it seems that you never suffered from it.
consider yourself lucky.
it forces me to reload my song to be able to continue working. I use a lot of samples and reloading means waiting between 5 and 10 minutes.
i think that sucks!

its not limited to logic instruments.
It happens with every plug in eventually and even affects simple miditracks.
Pretty embarrasing stuff.

that sucks indeed, and there's other bugs too in logic that suck and annoy the crap out of me sometimes.. but I'll still take logic over cube and the others any day (apart from maybe digital performer soonDr.Wu wrote:it seems that you never suffered from it.

and I have indeed been lucky, I have to admit, although I have had instruments 'die' in projects but it has never been a returning problem
maybe it will happen in the future and then I'll join you

The fact that not everybody suffers from it all the time makes it so hard to fix but it is definetly a well known problem that many Logic users suffer from.
The Apple support discussion groups are full of people complaining about it.
Combined with the random transposing of tracks and the sometimes empty sample editor window Logic has a lot of potential to drive me bananas........

Thanks for the info! The fix of this would have been about the only reason for me to update. Now I will not.Dr.Wu wrote:The bug known as SIDS (sudden instrument death syndrome) is still around in 7.2.

A question though, if someone can answer it:
It's known, that Logic 7.1.1 makes use of only one Dual Core on a G5 Quad. Do you know if Logic 7.2 now makes full use of all 4 processors?

Well, Dr.Wu.
I would never update my Logic again as first, I still wait till people are crying here telling me that the update did not work, as you did...! Never change a running System, you know!
