Hi, is there any free rewire host, that would allow me to rewire Reason to it and export song to multiple tracks? I don't care about any other features, it doesn't even have to support asio, vst or anything, since I would use it only for exporting Reason tracks to separate wave files.

If not free, then at least a very cheap one.

Not sure, but I think the $49 version of FLStdio will act as host or client. Yes/no?

No, you have to get the $99 version, per http://www.flstudio.com/documents/75.html

Props decided that Rewire documentation is only to be available to commercial software developers, per http://www.propellerheads.se/technologi ... nc=5223901

Damn, why would they do that? Another weird decision by props. Anyway, 99$ is way too expensive, considering that I wouldn't use any other features of FLS. I guess I'll just have to wait until rewire gets implemented in eXT...

Grrr... I'm not sure how ANYBODY profits from that decision by Props...

Okay, so how about the Tracktion 1.6 NFR? I see offers to sell it cheap in Marketplace every now and then. It's supposed to be Rewire 2.0 compatible.

I have it, but haven't tried to Rewire anything, since I don't own any Rewire clients that I know of. If it works okay, that would be a REALLY simple app for what tha-man wants.

I googled a bit and don't see any actually free programs, presumably because of the licencing thing...

But, yeah, Rewire in EXT will rock. Eventually. Per Jorgen, from a thread in December: "Its on the list but not top priority" And I don't think he's committed to having it in XT2 initial release.

As far as I know MadTracker is free (you can buy support or somthing like that) AND it is a Rewire client. I don't know if it is a Rewire host as well though.

Tracktion NFR? Damn, I've completely forgoten about that one, I have it somewhere. I just hope it still works - if I remember correctly, Tracktion copy protection was somehow dependent on hardware configuration, and that changed quite a lot here, since I've registered it.

Btw., doesn't NFR means Not For Resale? ;)

Tracktion works fine.
Plogue Bidule is cheap and can rewire at least 16 or 32 tracks (can't remember really).

Yeah, NFR does mean that indeed.... Apparently Mackie doesn't get freaked, though, from what I can tell....

And I think the promo was actually for two licenses, (I've got it, too, just have only installed on one machine, twice) so you may not have used them all up. I've seen a few posts on the forum that indicate that once the account gets locked for too many installs, Mackie won't unlock it...

Take care,

Yeah It meant to be installed on two machines with their IDs simultaneously. If your hardware has changed you can install Tracktion on your new machine and get the ID number. You should have your NFR number with you. Login to your mackie account and change previous machine ids with new one. You get a new key. Simple. I did that myself.
