Heya,

Just got CM and I'm playing with DS404. Maybe I'm just blind, but how do I assign an attack, hold or decay envelope to a sample ?

Hi there,

it depends on which Loop Mode of the assigned wave(s) is chosen. Only in Loop/Cont Mode you have full access to ADSR. In other Loop modes partially.

Have a look at the manual (p.13). It is simply not possible to use DS-404 without having read the manual. This is the only disadvantage. But for the price it's a small disadvantage in my opinion..... :)

1. load your sample(s).
2. Put your sample(s) in a keymap to tell DS404 which samples to play on what keys/velocities.
3. Use that keymap as the sound source for a synth patch.
4. Assign that patch to a timbre, and set the MIDI channel, volume and pan for the timbre.

I don't mind breaking down any of those steps if you get stuck.
