I've been browsing this forum for a while. Apologize for bringing up a topic that may have been covered before, but it might be a good idea to hit the main points again.
I'm a Euro/Trance/Techno producer and want to record some phat vocals. The problem is making them super-clean, crisp, and professional. And not only that, but splitting them up into pieces for that extra touch. But that's a bonus right now.
I don't have a vocal booth and I've been using a cardioid mic in my room. My vocals just don't sound pro.
I've read about Voxformer; will this plug-in allow me to remove any static noise, add ambience, and make it sound cool? Will it let me mangle/split the vocal? What other filters are greatly recommended? Thanks
EDIT: I'll post some samples of my recorded voice when I get home, so you can critique whatever doesn't sound pro. Thanks.

Euro/Trance/Techno Producer "Kompulsor" was fatally wounded in a tarnce accident on the night of June 15,2004 while travelling home from school on the short bus. His Friends said he had a "voxformer" brochure and said he was seeing things between the lines. When asking his friends, they could not confirm said features, and that, along with the fact they said Trance Music sucks arse, cause a seizure that ended up in his choking on his own saliva, resulting in tarnce death. He is survived by a cousin, Brian Transeau. Funeral services will be held at "euphoria" in L.A.
