im looking for some recommendations... the free one's i've found kinda suck and have terrible guis...

IMHO try out interruptor's tape delay, bionic, and analogic delays. They are THE BEST in my opinion.

I don't know of many that are actually meant to be like tape delays. Interruptor and arcdev have some, and there's one by Project One which has disappeared.
Superchibisan, what other free ones have you tried, might point me to something new?

yes tapedelay, the gui isnt the best but the freaking effect is kick ass.

This one is so good, ignore the bad graphics. seriously. It takes a lot to find one that could top tape delay. Click on his other stuff and find how awesome it is.

I didn't realise tape delay had already been successfully emulated in a software plugin ? , thats why were all waiting to hear if Universal audio can pull it off with the soon to be released Roland space echo RE-201 plugin

there is a free tape delay by cofx, which i think is quite good.
