I’m trying to achieve a stuttering effect on synth lines and vocal using a gate triggered by a beat.
Firstly I need to know a good plugin to achieve this properly, as the waves c1 I have doesn’t appear to have this capability.
I will be getting a TL audio compressor in the next couple of weeks and just sold a drum kit so my budget for a plugin is £300-600 (gate, sidechain, comp etc)
[ I heard that voxengo products are good and warm]
Any advice would be much appreciated.
setup: cubase sx 3, pc

if your beat is a midi-track, you could use my trance-gate. if it is a audio track you could use my lpc-vocoder (it allows to apply only the amp-envelope of the modulator signal, leaving the frequency-envelope as it is)freshobsessions wrote: I’m trying to achieve a stuttering effect on synth lines and vocal using a gate triggered by a beat.

no problem. just wanted to visit your site to see who is using my plugs, but the link seems down (i get some "unspecified server error"). if it helps, i could save the generated .html and send it to you.digitaldoom wrote:thanks braindoc!braindoc wrote:if your beat is a midi-track, you could use my trance-gate. if it is a audio track you could use my lpc-vocoder (it allows to apply only the amp-envelope of the modulator signal, leaving the frequency-envelope as it is)freshobsessions wrote: I’m trying to achieve a stuttering effect on synth lines and vocal using a gate triggered by a beat.

Oli Larkin's "Advanced MIDI Gate" should do the trick as well. You can download it at http://www.oli.adbe.org/freeware.htm .
