welcome at kvraudio :)

Post

yes, first of all welcome...

...then i'm miself very curious on having some feedback about this type of reverb too !!!!!

Post

There are some threads discussing it already...

My first experience today is that the keyfile apparently doesn't match the name I registered it with :(

How? Who? What? Where?

Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

I don't know about the sound, but I like the 3D view :)

Great reverb. Only have the demo right now. I intend to get it.

Looks cool - very similar to an idea I had a couple of years back - damn! Knew I should have patented it :)

Oh, this is a nice piece of engineering! What a treat, especially as it comes with some presets to give you a clue about what results to expect from your experimenting.

I loved the "train announcement" demo, unmusical though it might be...

With this plus a convolution engine for even more nutzoidal reverbs, all the bases are covered, I'd say.

Yep, this is definitely going on the wishlist. :hyper:

this reverb has not much (nearly nothing) to do with convolution reverb engines... as it is based on raytracing, which is calculating lights and objects.

Rayspace just calculates the sound rays and how they reflect and move through the room/hall.

Its more a classic algo based reverb....

I don`t know why so many people think it is convolution? :-o

you still can patent your idea! :hihi:

I wasn't saying it was - that thread was describing a plugin that could "model a space and hear your sound as if the instrument is being played within it it in realtime". It starts with convolution reverbs because that's where I got the idea of modelling a space (from Impulse modellers) but the idea it inspired was to circumvent the actual convolution process and do it all in realtime as one process.

The patent thing was only a joke anyway - I'm sure I wasn't the first to think of this.

Post

yeah, and at least,
to patent a real time reverb not being based on convolution but algorithmic you should have had your idea 50 years earlier (or even more).

hahaha

just joking too. :D

Yeah but not exactly - the point was that it would realistically model a real environment - most algo reverbs I'd seen at that point just did stuff like "early reflections", "room size" etc but not a whole room with walls, surfaces etc like impulse modeller does (and now Rayspace). So it's algo in that it's synthesised but it does what I want from a convo reverb too in that it captures the qualities of an actual soundspace.

btw what would be really cool would be if you could morph from one space to another in realtime (u listening QuikQuak??)

And Quikquak used this as an opportunity to demonstrate their quick support. Fixed.
