Ok so here it is...
The fruit of my labour...
The apple of my eye...
The Fizz n my Chips!

Presenting an all new set of (cheap) samples in a downloadable package...

||| Fizz~n~Chips||| - Food for your Sampler...

Image

A set of over 300 wav files designed with the past in mind. This is a Retro Soundset for the modern age. All the blips~n~bloops, schwings~n~schwongs, plops~n~fizzes you could ever need!

Made with SidStation, GameBoy, NES, MegaDrive & Speak n Spell, this sample set is 100% OldSkool! Perfect to add that Retro taste to your tracks & a lifesaver for the game maker or sound designer!

Check out the demo and listen to my silly tunemaking at...

http://www.fizznchips.com

(more demos to come - thanks vurt!)

The set will retail for 15Euro, BUT for the first month I would like to offer it at an introduction price of... only 10Euro!

Additionally, I would like to run a competition for KvR members where, the best three - 2min tunes made with with the demo files provided, will win a full set for free! (you gotta let me post the tunes on the site tho!)

Competition will run for two weeks from today :hyper:

Its cheap enough to be an impulse buy!

Go on - You know you want it!!!

woo !
great work Dave.
i wanted to collect ( for my use ) old consoles sounds ( from MAME and other EMUs ) but it was too much work. i'm really glad that someone did it after all and share it at this price :) my zoom sampler will be happy.

for the comp, are we allowed to apply effects and other forms of audio manipulation to the samples?

Oops - Re: Compo...

I guess I should have thought that out a bit better... been so busy getting this ready - I thought I had all the bases covered!!!

Of course you may use any FX or additional synths you like. Please just post a list of what you used so folks can hear / or make out what is the sample content and what is your own instrumentation...

Obviously I would prefer as much ||| Fizz~n~Chips ||| in there as possible!!!
Oh and please post your entry here so we can all listen!!!

Thanks Tommo for pointing this out to me!!!

Ugo - we were prolly posting at the same time :)

ok, here's my track. hardly a toe-tapper, unlikly to win any contest, and probably even more unlikly to win you any new customers...but i had fun making it. :hihi:

where is heaven?
im not sure what genre this falls into, but my guess would be a dirge.

everything up to 0:48 is from fizz n chips. the samples are played with liveslice and kontakt 2, and are processed through metallurgy and kontakt 2's effects. at 0:48, i bring in a psudo theremin sound from string theory and several vocal effects/samples from altered states.

i havent been able to write a damn thing lately, so it was great to be inspired by these samples. :)

Ugo - :hihi:

Have you heard the rushed demos I did on the site???

I didnt realise that asking folks to do tunes with these sounds would result in tracks in the videogame style I love so much - obvious really now I actually think of it!!!

I dunno dude - I really like this... its creepy in a way that your scared and excited at holloween when your a kid - no???

Thanks for doing this Ugo - String Theory really sounds great with these sounds!!!

Uhhh yeah you can say that again. Paypal makes this a little too easy, I don't even have to take out my card.

Good stuff man. I like supporting KVR members here but it's also the stuff i'm constantly looking for. I would compete for the prize, but I know i'd get wooped by all you folks - nice track Ugo, that's what I'm talking about. Which patch in String Theory is that btw?

You should release a set of SNES samples next... hehehe...

*nodnodnod*

Old school RPG music. :D

Too bad I can't buy these. Saving up for an Edirol. :)

Edit: Damn, Ugo. This song is hot. :D

That'd probably be more doable, anyway. SNES sounds were all mostly ROMpler sounds from Roland Sound Canvas modules. I don't see how that'd be legal, hehe.
