Oh, I also forgot.
The difference is rather marked, I would love to be ablle to sit down and A/B the efx myself. I wouldn't go as far as to say that TDM sounds that much better or worse, just different. Same as with any plugin, only ever as good as the person using it.

yes, I agree. it's just a little color/"marked" diference , TDM not sound "better" than RTAS to me.

Just listened to those example. At first I would have sworn that I could ear differences (my recent, and rather large for my means, investement in a monitoring solution had a play maybe?).
Then I made the test blind, with somebody else controling which played when, and I failed miserably
I hope it doesn't mean my investement was waisted...

EXACTLY! so.. shall I dig up ALL the threads where annoying tweebs say there is NO difference at all? That they are identical.. coz waves said so.Chickenman wrote:Oh, I also forgot.

I think this thread proves the point pretty well. Waves TDM and RTAS sound different, no matter what waves marketing department says. Period.

Depends on which of the files you did the test. The L2 test IS pretty obvious so if you failed that one then you better maybe train your ears a bit more? However, the other two are a quite a bit harder to spot. I'll try posting ASAP some better L2 comparisons with a full music clip. The difference is heard there even easier.nuisance sonore wrote:Just listened to those example. I don't see the point in comparing two as distorted signals as in the L2 case. Which shit smells best?; gee I don't know

Props to 3*s for the almost best post in the thread (if only the annoying waves boxes weren't posted)..

I think you guys are really rude to bmanic. Now apologize and go sit in the corner for an hour.
The thing is separating the the BS from the facts. When someone says there is a difference when there is none, that is BS. On the other hand, when someone says there is NO difference and there IS one, that is also BS. In this case it is relativitley easy to prove it both matematically and audibly.
EDIT: Misread one post.If you saw this Torben, sorry.
I'll go stand in the corner for an hour.

Umm, they are deliberately pushed "too far" to show that there is a clear difference. That's all.Torben wrote:I don't see the point in comparing two as distorted signals as in the L2 case. Which shit smells best?; gee I don't know![]()
