I want to load up NI Battery with some really nice ethnic or so called "world" percussion.
Already have Doru's collection, btw. I'm really looking for multi-layered samples for better realism. Ideally, these would be compatible with Battery, but if neccessary I'm willing to build the kits.
Thanks!

Doru's is definitely very realistic. If you want even more, Quantum Leap RA and Stormdrum would be your best bets. Get ready to shell out over $1k though..

Hello this is my first post on KVR. worked on both RA and Stormdrum. Very nice collections. If you have the $$ would recommend RA. If you can wait, Ilio's Samplebase will have some less expensive but quality alternatives!

Ra would be overkill just for percussion.
Stormdrum is a good choice but also take a look at Yellow tools Culture, Wizoo's Latigo and Darbuka and Percussive adventures 2.

I'm looking for single-hits (multiple layered for velocity)

http://www.projectsam.com/ is coming up with true strike 2.
http://www.handheldsound.com/fhp.htm handheldsound has fhp coming up.
both seem promising and both developers have done _amazing_ stuff so far so i'm guessing neither of them will disappoint. however, no demos out yet from either so can't be sure.

I happen to be a big fan of nusofting's ethno set.
They're single hits but make some pretty good loops when you use them with their patterns in DK+.

I really hate the Intakt engine. Besides Culture, what non-intakt ethno instruments are there?

Hi guys.
FHP (FlyingHand Percussion) is practically ready. I am just waiting for some business mstters to close and I eill announce here.
There will be first official demos by the end of next week.
All the instruments are multisampled there are no loops.
Check the web site at -
www.handheldsound.com/fhp.htm for info/demo etc..
It's very detailed...and there are some surprizes
Talk soon.
