not every algo is based on early and late reflections.aMUSEd wrote:Yeah but not exactly - the point was that it would realistically model a real environment - most algo reverbs I'd seen at that point just did stuff like "early reflections", "room size" etc but not a whole room with walls, surfaces etc like impulse modeller does (and now Rayspace). So it's algo in that it's synthesised but it does what I want from a convo reverb too in that it captures the qualities of an actual soundspace.hifiboom wrote:yeah, and at least,
to patent a real time reverb not being based on convolution but algorithmic you should have had your idea 50 years earlier (or even more).
hahaha
just joking too.
btw what would be really cool would be if you could morph from one space to another in realtime (u listening QuikQuak??)
at least there is one in hardware domain that does not rely on early late reflection models:
the quantec Yardstick, which is based on a single algo for early and late reflections.
And it sound very realistic, really good like hell

listen to the sound demos on the page..
At some point they even considered porting it as plug-in to Creamware Scope platform.
this would have made Creamware a rich company.
