Checking the website, Korg Universe vol.3 has been announced, and a bonus disk.

Any hint as to the release date ? What is the bonus disk ?

Yes, the KORG Universe Vol.3 is available soon. The planned release is a bit delayed because we´re still so extremely busy with the new Ethnotronics VST.

The Bonus disk comes with several new multisamples of specific instruments we´ve considered on the Vol. 1 and 2. So here you can find some more multisamples of the 700S, MS20, PS3200, etc.

OK, looking forward to it.

I'm using vol.1 and vol.2 with the Trinity template. Will vol.3 carry on using individual 8Mb banks or are they larger ?

There are several really huge multisamples on Vol.3.

Perhaps you can work with your Trinity PBS board though and I´ll explain why: When making the Vol.1 and 2 the Akai S1000 format was the most popular and indeed the Korg Universe series was thought as Trinity PBS sample library too. Now we have 2006 and the sample world is way different. Surely the Vol.3 will appear as S3000 format sample library but additionally we´re converting all files to WAV. This makes it possible to edit even huge samples, map them newly and create own small versions. And the WAV multisamples will be converted to wusiksnd too, so the entire Korg Universe library will be accessable with TSW VST or any other ws-engine sampleplayer. We´ll make an attractive upgrade offer for all existing Korg Universe owners then and there are many, so far the Korg Universe series is one of our alltime bestsellers.

Thanks for the reply. No worries, I have other sampling means as well, including GS3 and K2. But I liked using vol.1 & 2 with the Trinity as they worked very well given the 8Mb limit of PBS.
