I can't seem to get around this and I don't think I can because the manual isn't helping me at all.

When I go into the MIDI edit screen, the toolbar covers up the ruler! I can't figure out what part of the song I'm looking at and I can't see where I want to put the notes! The ruler is covered by the MIDI edit toolbar and it's driving me crazy!

You're probably best asking in the RMS forum, but from memory I believe you can set the toolbar to display on the top (I think this covers the ruler) or the bottom.
I could be mistaken though - it's been a while.

i know what you mean, the top track... yes, its a pain.

but you can bypass it with either of the following.

1, if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, you can set it in prefrences ( or it might be set automatically, not sure ) to scroll the sequncer view left or right.

2, you can set in prefrences that once you hold shift, and use the mouse wheel, you can zoom in/out.

alternativly, if you haven't got amouse with a wheel, im sure you can setup individual keys to go back/fourth zoom in/out of the sequncer.

have fun.
