Blue Cat's Music Software is happy to announce the release of Blue Cat's Chorus v2 (beta) and its powerful skinning engine.
3 default skins are included in the install packages (see below), and you can learn how to skin your plug-in yourself with the skinning manual. Customize the effect to your exact needs, and choose your look and feel!

The plug-in supports both VST and DX formats, and it's still 100% free!

Download it right now: http://software.bluecatonline.org/Produ ... ct_Chorus/

We are waiting for your feedback to release the final version and make our entire catalog skinnable.
If you are running Windows 2000 or Windows 98 we would be glad to know if everything works fine on your machine.

Thanks. These default skins do not reflect the capabilities of the skinning engine. The look and behavior of the skins can be totally customized.

Is the update are on the skin only !?

There is also a small modification on the gain parameter which has been made more precise. But appart from that, the algorithm of the chorus effect has not been changed in this release.

The major new feature is the skinning engine. It's more than just graphics changes, you can really customize the controls and the behavior of the user interface: you can remove some parameter controls if you whish, reorganize the UI, change the response curve of the knobs...

And there is now a user manual too :)

Any feedback yet? (just to make sure that the new plug-in UI works in your favorite host)

Post

Hi everybody,

there have been quite a bunch of visits and downloads in two days, and unfortunately no feedback yet... :(
Is it possible for you dear users just to post a few words (does it work on your favorite host? Do you like the new UI?...)?
I presume that if there were major issues there would have already been dozens of posts, but we would like to be sure, just in case. We don't want to release a non-beta version without enough users feedback, it's a question of been fair with all of you, even if it's freeware. And remember, there is more freeware to come...

Thanks for your time, and sorry for the re-post.

skinnable plugins are always welcome that's for sure!(although i really like the default skin. just perfect!)
i'm no expert on chorus plugins but i'm keeping this one as it does the job and has a gui i like.
thanks

Stereo version crashed FL the instant it was loaded...but it's very rich just like the other modulators you have. They're quite unique.

Thanks to both of you for your feedback.

Very strange... What version (of FL) do you have? Here all versions (Stereo/Mono & DX/VST) work perfectly on FL5 Demo...
Could you load it in the end or is it the same each time you try to load it?

Stereo version works fine here with FLS 6.08, tho' the mono version doesn't load. Sounds great, if the presets are a bit extreme.

'EDIT'
The mono version now loads ok. Strange :?
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

I had similar random issues with Cakewalk VST adapter... I'll investigate more into this.
Thanks for your feedback.

Good news, I can reproduce the issue on FL Studio 6 demo (I was actually running the 5 demo which works fine).
I'll keep you informed on progress about this issue.
