... The discoDSP HighLife has just caught my attention.

Anyone using it? Opinions? And out of (long neglected) curiousity - just how many "samplers" currently support import of the sfz format???

I want to get more deeply involved in it.

thanks.

... Ah - thanks. But, I note Dimension is not listed.(odd) And the sfz+ isn't either.

So - so far:

Dimension
Cakewalk Rapture Synth (Wavetable)
discoDSP HighLife VSTi Freezer
rgc:audio sfz SoundFont Player Free
rgc:audio sfz+
Vember Audio Shortcircuit Sampler/Sample Player

... Going for a 'list'

sfz+ doesn't support sfzformat.

Can you buy Dimension as separate product?

$200 for Rapture... /sigh/ I actually am sorely tempted to buy it...

Oh, and I wasn't sure exactly what Shortcircuit was going to do with what it found in the SFZ file - it doesn't mention it on the feature list except against "sample format". Looks like it's a pretty limited import. Not that's a problem given Shortcircuit's purpose, of course!

Crystal also is a soundfont player, though it doesn't use all the possible associated data. On the other hand, it sounds great...

:? ... Then why the hell, is it called "sfz+" ???

... Of course - Dimension Pro.

From RGC/Cakewalk:

sfz (freeware)
Dimension (as part of Project 5 Version 2)
Dimension Pro (for Mac & PC)
RXP (groove player that ships with Sonar 5)
Rapture (focus on wavetable synthesis but also full sfz support)
I want to get more deeply involved in it.
Then get yourself over to the Cakewalk forums and meet the gang: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.asp?forumid=32

Because when it was released, it was sfz plus - sfzformat didn't exist. sfz format was then added (to sfz). Had Cakewalk not got involved, I expect sfz+ would have acquired sfz format by now.

In which case you can't count it twice ;), hence it not being in the database.

Paradroid adds another, RXP, that's not available separately, so also isn't listed in the database. I wonder if they (Dimension and RXP) should be added?

Dimension & Dimension Pro have enough difference between them to warrant 2 entries, I should think. Does the KVR database include synths that are only available as part of a package?
