I don't know if we need to convert the SAGA Backbeat to RMX or not??? But it's not recognized??? Did I miss something?

... The 'expanders' are in SAGE format already.

How did you install it? Most likely more to the point would be - to WHERE?

Most of the expanders need to be pointed to the directory (drive) that has the SAGE folder installed - but NOT to the SAGE folder itself ... In other words "install here" should not say SAGE - but the root directory. Once so directed, they self-install to the correct sub-folder, within the SAGE folder.

Yeah, he's right I think. They really need to make that installer more of a wizard. It can be very frustrating.

... I tend to think, that it was done the way that it is - to specifically avoid many of the (seemingly) intrinsic problems, so frequently encountered with 'set-up wizards'.

Ever have this (?) for example:

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins\Vstplugins\Vstplugins

The infamous "Do you want to install this there ANYWAY?" (paraphrase)

... Basically - read the 'read me first' - first, (and don't assume every install is the same) and I've found problems to be extremely rare with Spectrasonics stuff.

This is probably the only real issue I have with Spectrasonics RMX. The installation procedure is both great and not so great. Great as in they provide a very nice video to explain exactly what you need to do which really is great, but I really thought the whole process of installation would be far easier and not require watching the video to get it right.

Having said that once you fire up one of the RMX multi's you will almost certainly forget about any issues with the install process! :hihi: :D Fantastic quality. If you could hear a million dollars it might sound like Stylus in full flow! :)

I agree that it's a great product. I think I'm still smarting from the pain of my initial installation, with the whole convoluted mess involved with installing content on a different drive than the primary installation. It felt like too much of a hack. It should just ask you when you first install whether you want to split content from the main program rather than making me create a shortcut and all that stuff.

Maybe Spectrasonics will look into a much easier and quicker way to install it at some stage in future. It really will make a big difference. Now back to the million dollar sound... :hihi:
