Also I want to know what happened to the AT2 interface graphics. Is this what the delay is about?Amps look better, stomp boxes look worse. My theory is that it looked too much like the real thing before (fuzzface, tubescreamer etc.) and they got sued by Ibanez or MXR.

Just my conspiracy theory
No one got sued. But, there was a conscious decision to dial back the look to make it more of a hybrid AT2 look as opposed to as if it was the real thing... of course with products like Ampeg SVX which are actually done WITH Ampeg you get an exact look... which makes a lot more sense if you think about it.

By the way, the lack of foot expression pedal on Stomp IO is on purpose. It is made up for by the ability to choose a much higher quality foot pedal than you normally find onboard but also the bigger news is that you have the ability to hook up SIX of them!!! So, this is more of a pro piece from that standpoint. Also, let's not forget that you can control the entire plug-in from the foot controller without the need for a monitor or mouse. That is HUGE! It is like a control surface for guitar players. It is pretty exciting!

I have a Roland FC100MkII foot controller and EV5 expression pedal (been in the closet for years), would I be able to use either of these with AT2?
The EV5 I believe so. I don't have my very own Stomp IO yet ( :( ) but when I do I will be able to check out more details on what works best with it. In fact, I will personally be on the search for the best possible foot controllers for it. I will be using it for a little of every instrument and also as an effects unit (AT2 is one of the best stomp-style effects units I've ever heard in software and I LOVE stomps! I like them even more than rack effects for rock music). I also like hardware stomps. I bought a Graphic Fuzz and a MicroSynth from ElectroHarmonix at NAMM. :hihi:

I have no control over when AT2 is here. However, for your birthday I have a signed Danny Gottlieb solo CD you don't have for ya. Happy Birthday! Plus the drum stick and drum head from DG.

Well, there's nothing any stores can do about it. When you are developing a product in multiple platforms that is cutting edge it is possible for it to take longer than you expect. Obviously that is the case here. You don't take the cookies out of the oven before they're all ready (well, bad analogy because we all even like the cookie dough... and I have been liking the bowl for months!!! woops, sorry).

AT2 is done. I think the other format programming is done as well (not sure as I am not the developer, I just ask on all your behalf). But, there's pressing, manuals, packaging details, international logistics and all of that can take 2-3 weeks. So, it is just about here. I know it is frustrating. At least it is awesome is all I can say. It really is. Probably to some people who wouldn't know the difference might see my words as hype. But, those that have an idea of what they think it will be like (or especially if they were a fan of AmpliTube 1... which is over 100,000 people btw) will be loving it very soon and the wait will be behind us.

All said, I know that a lot of people have learned some lessons from this in terms of efforts in announcement to release times. I know that my company SR has learned from our mistakes announcing Studiophonik too early for example. It is tough when you are striving for excellence more than just trying to beat the clock and rush something out the door. However, the product that has had more put into it tends to stay around longer. Either way, it obviously isn't intentional. It must be frustrating for the developers too. Yet, at the same time, there must be a sense of accomplishment having worked on something for so many years. They should be proud. This is one of my favorite plug-ins ever and I know it will be for many people. Hang in there! (or not, your choice of course).

One of my favorite music software companies has a policy of never announcing release dates until things are just about ready to go. Some people complain because of that policy too, but I'm in favor of it. (On the other paw, they're notorious teases about non-date stuff.)

To me it doesn't matter all that much. It's an annoyance but I can wait. I understand the frustration of those on all sides, producers and consumers. Ah feel yore pain. Ow...

Under-promise and over-deliver. Works for me. :)

That is definitely an ideal to shoot for. I agree.
