Honestly, I am really happy to see this right after the Arturia Brass release with its huge hype, big price, dongle, and purchase needed to try the demo.

This is the way these things should be. I am going to send him a donation on principle, even though I cannot use his stuff cause it is PC only.

Oh, and great demo stuff Tony. Sounds fantastic, both the playing and the synth.

MilesTone inspired me to pick up a WX5 when I was stateside recently, and I've started trying, feebly, to get my sax chops back driving MilesTone and other softsynths (Cube 2 is deeply cool when you let the breath control drive the morphing functions). One thing that happened a couple of times with beta6 is that, if I play a very, very low note (2 octaves down on the WX5) the sound gets very strange (and not necessarily very low pitched) and MilesTone locks up until I reset Sonar. Feels like a bug.

Its a model of a trumpet, so it will only be able to realistically play so low, and functionally not much lower than that. I'm suprised it sounds as good as it does as low as it does, well beneath the real trumpets limit of low F# (E in concert key). it probably wasnt tested much lower cause youre not supposed to do that.

I understand that I was well beyond the range of a trumpet, and I agree that it sounds amazingly good in the bass range. It's also cool in high registers beyond the upper limit of a Bb trumpet. One of the things that I disliked about the Arturia Brass trumpet was that you couldn't take the model outside the trumpet range, not even as an option. It's fine with me if it sounds like crap once one gets too low, but I really doubt that Guido intended that it go crazy and lock up. Maybe the base frequency got so low that none of the first N overtones had a wavelength that would fit in the tube, and that confused the model...

Anyway I've got some suggestions when it comes to playability, and it is refered to the Yamaha Tyros2.

The modwheel has 2 different operation modes. If you're playing with velocity between 0 - 99 then modwheel act as vibrato. But when playing between 100 - 109 the modwheel actually trills and vibrates the sound at once.
Between 110 and 127 the note falls down or raises depending on how the modwheel is set. Below middle it falls, above it raises.

that's pretty cool dude. btw i did something too. didn't use any automation for pitchbend or automation. all notes' velocities are the same level. i tried getting the most out of it with nothing but notes.
