Hi!

I have a Roland SPD-S percussion pad connected to my computer via midi. I wonder if there is some software that can trigger different midi sequences like in the tune 'Trigger Happy' by Dave Weckl. For example when I hit a pad it plays a chord or a sample and when I hit it again it plays another chord/sample. The Roland TD drum modules has this function and it's very fun to play with. :)
Preferably it should be freeware and work on Win98 because that's what I use on my laptop. But other suggestions are very welcome too.

DR-008 might do the trick - it lets you trigger short sequences either from a single hit, or you can play up to four different samples one after the other with successive hits from the same pad.

Otherwise, I don't know of any "all in one" software that'll do it.. that said, it would be quite possible to build a patch that'll do exactly what you want in Bidule, Reaktor or SynthEdit (probably in EnergyXT too), and you'd then be able to customize it too.
This account is dormant, I am no longer employed by FXpansion / ROLI.

Find me on LinkedIn or elsewhere if you need to get in touch.

Thank You!
I checked the manual for DR-008 and it seems to have what I'm looking for. Four different notes ins't that much in a melody but better than nothing. :)
I've also downloaded EnergyXT Demo but I've found no such function yet, though it seems like a good program.

So what we actually need is a VSTi of a Simmons SDS6 :D
CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, Moved to Reason and Rack Extensions exclusively (from Reaper and VSTs) several years ago.

as angus says energyXT can do this with ease in the sequencers live mode or in its main workspace using MIDI comps ... its cheap too ...

Allright! Thanx! I'll look into it. It seems like the documentation isn't complete but I'll browse the forums.
