Feed it both audio and midi and it will record on notes between 1'st octave, replay of the recorded material will commence on notes in the 2'nd octave.
That is, press c1 for a while to record then c2 to replay.

A lot of replaymodes are available
Forward / Baclwards / PingPong, also these have plain vanilla type repeat type and a cont type that does not reset the position of where the sample where played (to make stuttering of a sample)

A very simple little test is here: http://www.larsby.com/johan/bba/edit2.mp3
A shredded drumbeat, put through spinbug, and a note to make it "interesting". Sorry about the crappy demo, I've actually used the beginning from "Baby's got back" by Sir Mix-a-Lot while testing, interesting combinations can be had :)
Cant post that tough, I dont own those rights.

Anyways, you can only record 10 seconds or so on every note, the graphics are FAR from final and I would like to hear what you think, and what stuff that are'nt working and what you would like for more features etc etc.

Just downloaded.
That's 2 betabugs plug-ins I get to experiment with today!
It's like a birthday but without the helmet full of weevils & the weeping!

Looks good! I just did a quick test under eXT without problems: working as described, although on the 2nd (record) and 3rd (play) octaves. Don't have a keyboard controller with me now though, which I suppose is half the fun here 8)
The one thing that striked me is that it doesn't seem to route the audio input to the output so you are not hearing what you are recording. I think it would be cool to be able to mix the input signal with the processed signal, although this is not a big deal on modular environments such as eXT.

Other than that, as usual qith your plugs, I like the idea AND the execution a lot :D I'll try to test it a bit further.

Cheers!

JJ.
The mind boggles.

btw, what's the second betabugs plug that runagate mentioned? :?:

become a betatester and find out... we always need some people to help us test our stuff on different systems

Post

Actually, yeah, why not? I'm using your plugs quite a bit lately and love them all :D It would be nice to at least help a bit...
How do I become a betatester? Is there an initiation ritual or something?

hehe... yeah... there is actually...

you gotta attach a string to your... ah nevermind... just sign up over at the bughouse if you haven't done so yet.... sent a pm to lunch or myself and ask for permission to betatest... that's all

very active betatesters get a free or reduced-price copy of our plug-ins

btw johan I just sent you an e-mail :D

Post

Just started playing with this - but, don't apologize for the "crappy demo" (the mp3)... I quite like it.

Post

Thank you.

Are there no bugs?

Well, yeah, I should have wrote midinumbers instead, but that is not as intuitive, perhaps. To bad that it seems to differ from host to host.
I left the routing of audio input to audio output since all host have dry/wet.

Running the plug in TobyBear's MiniHost. Can't figure out how to operate it. Any instructions?

Post

in tobybear's minihost
1. load a wav (press he "main" menu, then show mid wav meny, thereafter load a .wav)
2. start the wav
3. make sure you have virtual keys enabled (midi / virtual keys)
4. make sure you have computer keyboard enabled (midi / computer keyboard / active)
5. press "z" to record (this is C1)
6. press "q" to replay (this is C2)

Hope that does it, ofcourse you can draw the mouse and click on the virtual keys in minihost aswell.

Hope that information is sufficient, please ask if its not.

How do you feed audio and midi in trackion?

Post

bush wrote:How do you feed audio and midi in trackion?
there are several ways of doing that...

just create two tracks
put the pointy arrow with the audio input to track one
put the pointy arrow with the keyboard to track two
click on track two
choose "track one" as output of track two

or I guess when you have recorded the audio and have a nice midi file just put one above the other should work
