I was told just this morning by Elijah that it will be soon...

CSR uses a USB key, but it's the same key as Philharmonik and Cubase, so if you've got them too you can consolidate your licenses onto one key.

So right before the CSR install I remove the Philharmonik key, and then once I've installed CSR and it asks for a key I can just put the Philharmonik key in?

Or do I have to use the new key and then transfer the licenses afterwards?

I don't think you need to do anything, it should detect there is an IKM USB key already and just install the software. You will still have to do the online authorization thing just as you did with MP (which happens when you start up the software for the first time).

At least that's what happened when I got the ST2.1 crossgrade.

Thanks, idragosani.

I only asked because when I first installed Philharmonik it said to make sure no key was attached before installing the software.
But that makes sense...if it was just the Syncrosoft driver. It shouldn't go through that routine again.

Follow the instructions on the installer. Don't leave the key in while you are installing but put it in when it says to and you'll be fine.

It can act as a spare physical key. If you transfer both your Philharmonik and CSR licenses to one key, then the other will be "empty". This might mean that if you damage your key, you may not need to purchase another physical key. However, it really depends on IK, and how they handle the Synchrosoft licenses. It's a pretty specific question, so your best bet I think is to contact IK directly.

Okay, thought I understood, but let me ask it this way...

When I install CSR and it asks for the key to be put in...can I just put the Philharmonik key in and it will put both licenses on that key...or must I first use the new CSR key and then transfer the license afterwards?

I guess my concern is that if I do this the first way, the Philharmonik license could be overwritten.

If it works the same as other crossgrades, it should auto-detect the key of the other IK product you already have installed (which makes sense, this is what crossgrade means, sharing the hardware key), you just need to go online to get the authorization for the new product, as you normally would. You don't need to remove the USB key or manually transfer licenses... the installation should do it rather painlessly for you. Although I imagine if it doesn't detect a USB key then it will complain.
