Well, I've just reinstalled Sonar...hoping to return to some degree of stability. A couple of quick question:
1) any rule as to the best place for the PictureData cache file (or whatever it's called)...It's currently on a different hard drive from the Sonar executable file. As is my AudioData file. The Picture and Audio data files though are in different directories.
2) Any rule of thumb for buffers and "read/write" cache? I'm working with an Athlon 64+ cpu and a Delta66 card. I currently have a gig of Ram - although I'm very tempted to get more and will probably do so soon.
Anyhow, thanks in advance for the advice.

Keep the Picture Cache on the same drive as the .exe.mayan wrote: 1) any rule as to the best place for the PictureData cache file (or whatever it's called)...It's currently on a different hard drive from the Sonar executable file.
Leave "Enable Read Caching" and "Enable Write Caching" unchecked.mayan wrote: 2) Any rule of thumb for buffers and "read/write" cache?

In an ideal world, put the Picture Cache on a third hard drive away from everything else, but otherise, phrauge's answer is spot on.
