As suggested this is my request :

I' ve once found a use of the subbass pug as a mastering plug to add precisely some bass on african percussion ( Dum-dum and some hits of djembe solo ) directly after stereo takes of african traditionnal bands.
So the plug was tweaked to target a bandwith that was mainly used by a single instrument inside the audiofile and, of course, discreetly mixed with the direct signal in a way it blended completely with the percussives hits

I had also some marvellous experience on acoustic guitars in a way it changes completely the suggested size of it BODY ( hear the mp3 example below )

And i'm actually looking for something that can replace it as VST or AU , so that's the reason i'm here...

To give you an clear example, this the intro of a song, originally made on a 4 track tape recorder, an honourable work for amateurs, that i tried to restore and remastered, adding a few experimentations :

...just listen to the guitar's exagerated body

(...for instance, and though it is a very good plug-in i actually couldn't do such job precisely with Psp mixbass )

Waves has a plugin (actually two) that works on the same principle of synthesising the low end...

Maxxbass: http://www.waves.com/content.asp?id=146
Renaissance Bass: http://www.waves.com/content.asp?id=125

There's also a freebie called baxxpander that can be nice.

Don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but from PSP, I prefer the "bass" option of the PSP MixSaturator for adding warm bass instead of the PSP MixBass... :)
Try very low warmth values (5-10% maybe)and tune it to fit it best for your material. It also works, when saturation is off.

Another alternative could be the Magic EQ option of the CamelPhat plugin. Sounds a bit more subtle to me than PSP...

Anyhow, the Waves mentioned above are a good choice, if it's gonne be to reconstruct bass frequencies (and not only to smooth them).

I especially love the sound samples on the Maxxbass page

where the original/dry is a completely different file to the two processed ones :hihi:

If you are on PC, try Voxengo LF-Max: http://www.voxengo.com/lfmax/

hey, thanks for the advices !

...just had a look on that purpose on both mix saturator and camephat (V.2) and they both seems to have interesting and flexible possibilities in bass boosting if you ask for it !
