Just noticed the guestbook of Doru Malaia site has a lot of entree with R.I.P. Is this true? At the same time, I see someone is replying under the name "DORUMALAIA" in this forum about Ethnic Drum samples???

Nobody is quite sure what's going on. He's been very ill for some time, but kept posting up to a couple weeks ago. :-( Sorry, but for now all is confusion.

Hmm, I just heard from somebody else a similar story that DORU has been fighting cancer for awhile, and passed away around February 11th-13th. But, how come there is no news on their website? And, does someone else posting under his name in here? Very strange.
If this sad news indeed true, may he Rest In Peace and deepest condolences to this family

It is confusing. Hopefully some concrete information will surface soon.

Bummer! Doru was a wacky, cool, and dedicated individual... The world needs more people like him! I'll think about him everytime I go in my "Drum Samples" folder, because I have so much of his stuff!!
Doru, you ruled!

DHR: Nobody knows for sure at this point. As the thread Landphil linked to shows, any facts there might be are totally muddled by what could be misinformation. :-( It's a crummy situation.

I was thinking of buying his DVD. I KNEW i was going to buy it. It was simply a matter of time. His product demos were excellent and i've seen the way he handles his customers. A very nice person. I wish him the best.

@aldo: Ah, my PM was too late. As I mentioned in it, I think Doru's friends will continue selling their sample sets but I don't know anything about what arrangements were made.

OMG Doru is dead?!?
That guy was a diamond, and his sounds were great. I hope this isnt true, although I remember hearing about this ill health a bit back.
