Question about Digital IDs

I'm thinking about purchasing Sonic Synth 2 and have a question about the copy protection.

I used my PC for software development as well as making music. (It's a hobby, I don't have a dedicated DAW and don't plan to).

A lot of software gets installed and removed, etc, and the machine gets quite messy after a while.

As a result I tend to rebuild the PC every six months or so. Which I assume would result in a new Digital ID. So again I assume I would need to reregister any product that used the Digital ID. I read in the Sonic Reality site that you can only do that three times.

Is that correct? Would rebuilding my PC require re-registration? And can that only be done three times? If yes, that would limit me to about 18 months use of SS

I wouldn't worry too much...I think after three times you would just need to contact them. Buy it from esoundz and tell them the issue up front...I'm sure they'll hook you up after your rebuild..

This is a bit OT, but - have you tried VMware? Before i started using that i used to have the same rebuild schedule, since i started using it i do a rebuild maybe every couple years or just buy a new box at that point. For development, there is no better thing to use.

If you're just reinstalling the software (not changing hardware), then the digital ID should remain the same.

Even if for some weird reason it changes, and you use up your initial three authorisations, you can always email or contact IK and they'll hook you up with some new authorisations.
