But for all the difficulties of running a good company forum, don't they pay off?

Look at all the little SR minions you've got running around, spreading advertisement to zillions of different communities! An endeavor like eSoundz wouldn't be popular at all without a dedicated forum and a dedicated company representative to foster enthusiasm about the products and the ePointz and the downloadable sounds... can't IK see that it pays for itself?

 I can see you don't really know the difference in size between say esoundz and IK. Let's say that it is many, many times the size. ;) A completely different animal in so many respects that you can't compare.

The bottom line is that even I am here talking to you at 1 am on a Sunday. How many companies have employees that have the guts to say what I do confidently and expect them to do it at all hours? I don't even have employees that would do that at SR. (Okay, Kim-esoundz as I said before but even he has his limits). This is not easy. I was going to work on some music tonight. But, I pop into KVR to see how things are and then because I am a passionate person who cares I find myself posting all night.

Yes, it has been good for esoundz sales and honestly that is the only thing that financially supports the idea of the company's CEO (SR's CEO) to hang around here as much as I do. I help you and you guys help us. It works out well for a company our size. (even if I may be losing a few hairs in the process ;) ). I don't think it works this intimately for a larger size company than ours. Not too much larger anyway.

Do you like the cover?
I wanted to reply to this but forgot where your post was! Yes, I like the cover. Well done. You have a nice voice. Similar in some ways to Kevin although different in the vibrato (you are more polished and he'd have been more rough or even vibratoless).

The only thing about covers, imo, is that they are either a novelty for getting really close or possibly even more interesting for making it a bit different. I am a bit more for making it different. For instance, when Kevin, myself and the other guys decided to do Kashmir (which was supposed to be on the Zep tribute album Enconium... long story) we really changed it around and that was fun.

So, I may do a few KG covers myself but I think when I do that I will change it around a bit. Even when you listen to Joytown live you can hear how drastically it changed and that was mostly because of me. I mean, I like the album version. However, the live version had people's mouths open in shock. If they were talking at the bar they just stopped and stared. They were probably thinking "woah, where are they going? Into a 1974 timewarp?" It really woke them up and then the rest of the show they were paying more attention. This is at least how it seemed from the stage.

But, anyway, it is enough to be able to pull off a cover like you did. So, good job! One of these days I might even put together a KG tribute album (even though there have been some I think... not sure). Maybe you can contribute something if we do that (if you wanted to that is). I'll probably see if Nick and some of the other guys (also Mark McCrite. You know him? KG fan #1. ;) he is a friend of mine who I used to let bootleg the shows) and even a few people who you might be surprised are fans of Kevin's such as the lead singer of Chicago (huge KG fan, even a Kaviar fan if you can believe that! Hard For Me To Say I Am Sorry for Making Christy Cry? I am talking about Jason Scheff, not Peter Cetera though).

Anyway, sorry for the delayed response. You probably thought I don't give a shit. But, I do. I get swamped sometimes and drop the ball. However, I can appreciate a KG fan who has musical talent themselves.

I'm gonna take a closer look at next year's Frankfur Musik Messe if you lost a noticable amount since last time. :D
I certainly do understand your comment and I believe some of us are also losing some hair sometimes for the same reason. ;)

Did we ever get the scroll wheel working in ST2.1?
Thanks! Riley

What version would that be? Doesn't work on my Mac, in Logic 7.1.1 :?

Macs don't come with scroll wheels on the mouse. ;) On the VST PC version it works. Maybe a few other PC formats. I mainly use VST on the PC myself.

Yes.
The version I have is 2.1.1 and the scroll doesn't work in Live 5, FL6, Or Project 5. It does work in stand alone mode though.

Should I make a seperate thread? I feel like I'm encroaching.

It probably should be a whole new thread.

I will try to find out which hosts and platforms scroll wheel works in. It may even be published somewhere on the websites. If not, it could be. Jason probably knows.

FWIW, it doesn't work in Protools 7.0. It does however work in stand-alone mode.

I guess you were kidding... Standalone DOES in fact work with my "scroll wheel" mouse on my Dual G5. But considering I use ST in Logic, that doesn't do me much good. Nice to know it's an issue with you guys...

:?

No scroll wheel action in Sonar, the host I use for most work. Ah well. IMO all hosts should pass scroll wheel messages to whichever plug-in the mouse pointer is over.

The multi-out still doesn't work either... Although it says it's been fixed on the update  2.1.1 was supposed to do that? Am I missing something?

I don't know. Remember this is the SR forum not the IK forum though. What we're concerned with doesn't mean that is what IK is concerned with. However, we can try to help find out! I will see if I can get an official list of what scroll wheel works in and doesn't work in and perhaps even WHY. I can't promise that I can obtain this information but I will do my best.
