I used a pair of large-diaphragm condensers to get samples of an old upright. The mics were not isolation-mounted, and there was a significant amount of rumble before denoising.

The trouble is that currently, there seems to be some kind of peak around 100-150 Hz (probably a legitimate resonance in the piano, but it seems a bit strong), as well as some lower/subsonic stuff. Examples may be found here.

Anyone who's good at EQ: A) Without hearing the real piano live, can you tell if anything's wrong? B) If it is, should I try to correct these before mapping or leave it up to the user? The goal is realism; I don't want to remove stuff that might be useful to somebody, and if the extra thump is just a psychoacoustic result of cranking my headphones, I'd rather not do something stupid...

Just so you know, I recorded all the samples with the piano closed.
