hello all,

we are in the process of developing an audio analyser and are looking for people to test and give comments/suggestions for further improvement and or fixes.

anyone one interested can grab a copy from http://www.nugenaudio.com and take it for a spin. as an incentive to feed back we will hold a draw of all those who submit a response (either on this thread, or via email beta@nugenaudio.com) to win a copy of the full release version.

thanks, and happy testing,

Jon (NuGen Audio)

p.s. we are not trying to get anyones email address for our mailing list as a result of this ;) -we are not interested in spamming anyone - if you wish to sign up for our mailing list you will need to do so seperately (check our privacy policy on the site for more details)

It causes serious pops and clicks on my machine, but I really love the way it displays stereo width.

Thanks for that Stephen.

Sorry, I forgot to say, could people please post details of OS/Host software and rough system spec with thier replies as that will really help with tracking down problems.

Jon

Hmmm... you ask people to betatest for you and in return you get a 'chance' at winning a copy

So the time people put into testing it for you is worth the price of ONE copy divided by the amount of people you get to actually test it for you.

I've seen users been called 'cheap' but it seems that designation also suits some developers

You do get a free betacopy of the software, for what it's worth. Or maybe you'd rather not accept the offer? I went for it.

Yes this has been a disturbing trend of late. I've beta tested many plugins and spent many hours doing so. In my opinion beta testers are part of the development team and should be compensated for their time. You risk damaging your computer or sound system especially if the developer is new to DSP programming not to mention the time it requires. One developer actually has people paying for the "priviledge" of beta testing new versions of their plugin. I found that it's easier in the long run to let other people work the bugs out then purchase the final plug, it saves a lot of time.

Thanks for your feed-back Stephen.

Please could you clarify whether you get these glitches all the time, or just when you open the plugin (or at some other time).
