How do I change the default VST folder path under XP?

Apparently the XP comes with the default path of C:\Program Files\Steinberg\vstplugins - after the reinstall I haven't installed any VST or VSTi (or host) yet - but the path seems precoded there. How do I change it to my G:\VST? I can recall I once read about some registry tweaking that can easily change it but I cannot remember where. Thanks in advance!

What do you mean "precoded"? XP doesn't come with a default path for VST's. Rather VST installers come with a precoded path which can (of course) be changed.
All the tweaking you need is available in any host that supports VST plugins - look for VST folder/path in your host's settings.

Don't worry, while installing new software/plugins you be able (in most cases) to specify the folder you want to place plugins and software.
NOTE: It's good to have VSTi plugins on another folder but "\Program Files\Steinberg\vstplugins" --> some software scans this folder while starting --> may get a long time and program may easily crash too.
