Thanks.
Thing is, the Lexicon Pantheon verb that comes with Sonar is fairly shite.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

seems strange to me...what if i'm not sure if i want a plate or a room reverb on a track...i have to load another plugin?

My ears agree with you, but I have read that a lot of people (in the press) think it's pretty good.

Probably largely because of the Lexicon name. Unless people like grainy and metallic reverbs.

in the moment I have no more USB Ports free. Is it possible to use my Cubase SX 2.2 USB Dongle (Syncrosoft) also for the CSR Reverb ?
Is CSR endongled? I have the dongle from Miroslav, but I didn't see USB port in the system requirements at SR's or IK's sites.

Ok, folks...this is probably NOT a very fair "comparison" in many ways, but here is what I did:
Located the original 24/44.1 mix (unmastered) that I did a few months ago with Lexicon Pantheon on the vocals and R66 on the drums and piano. Don't remember what the exact presets were though.

Then I remixed using CSR Plate "Plate and Delay" preset on vocals and CSR Room "Cool Sm Room" on the drums and piano, mixed to 24/44.1, again unmastered.

Then I pulled each WAV into Tracktion2.1 and used the "Acuma CD Master" preset of the "Final Mix" plugin. I only did this because 1) it's how I "poor man's master" everything these days and 2) it get's both mixes into the same loudness/final EQ/Limiting ballpart. At this point I exported to 192kb MP3 (with Final Mix on of course) using the LAME encoder.

The reason I say it's unfair is 1) the mixes are different with respect to levels and 2) especially the drums are hotter and more effected in the CSR version.

All that aside, I think it does show off these CSR units a bit. At the very least, maybe you'll like my track ;-)

Apologies in advance to Yoko, who I'm sure doesn't need my .57 royalty from this anyway :hihi:

CSR is INDEED dongled. After installing it and authorizing it using the dongle it came with, you can then use the Syncrosoft License Manager to transer the license from the supplied dongle to your Miroslav (or Cubase) dongle. (you will have to have both plugged in for this though).

After transfer, you have to reauthorize, according to the doc.

Yes it is.

Also, it is good to have a hub anyway. But, luckily if you use Cubase then you can use the same key.

the second mix sound def. more pro........ and the finest thing is, you cannot really hear the reverb, it is just there..... very clean at the high freqs.
seems to be an excellent tool....

I always searched for that special density I can hear on the drums.....

I've found that Sonar's Lexicon works great on some kinds of sound, not so well on others. But I can't tell what it will sound good on ahead of time, gotta try it first.

Wow. I guess these little secret promotions work! Elijah got flooded with epointz requests. I didn't even get a chance to tell him I was doing that. It was pretty funny. I had just thought of it as I wrote it.

YES!

Also, it is good for Frippertronix. ;) (seriously, you can get some cool Fripp-like fx with it, especially the inverse.)
