Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem being able to hear some midi files that I import.I have 2 soundcards a Delta Dio and a Soundblaster.I see so many devices that I don't know wich one to take for my default midi port.

Can somebody help, this program looks very good but I'm having this problem wich stops me from enjoying it even more.

Thanx

Neither. ;)

Use virtual instruments for listening to your MIDI files.

The problem isn't Tracktion, but your understanding of how MIDI and your soundcard relate to one-another. You'd have the same problem with any other program, except maybe one that automatically and transparently includes a "virtual general-MIDI" instrument as an output option.

MIDI contains no audio information whatsoever. It can only tell other software or hardware (ie. plug-ins or a sound module) which noises to make.

Thanx got it working, I had to select the right output for every midi track. So used of using Cubase

All of your outputs should have defaulted to your soundcard already. ;) Cool that you got it working, though!

An interesting and important difference between Tracktion and many other sequencers is that at the track level it does not distinguish between MIDI and audio. A track is a track, and the program just knows that it contains "information". It's the clip within the track that sends either MIDI or Audio. A track can therefore contain both at once! Which is cool for many things.
