A brief FYI - I have discontinued hosting the free Reaktor ensembles and VST plugins on my web site. Suffice it to say the reasons are personal. People who have already downloaded them are of course free to continue to use them, but please do not distribute them further - thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I'd describe any of those free VSTs as 'better'.
None of them had GUIs, as I was too lazy to be bothered with all that. A few of them were downright bad. People seemed to like the reverb okay though. It was called 'Empire'. It was basically an adaptation of the Jezar Freeverb library, with a couple of little twists.

I use Empire as a feedback generator in Audio Mulch, but sometimes when I need that particular reverb sound - always loved it.

hope you aren't discontinuing your creative efforts however; you've had some rather nice ensembles.

Honestly, I'd rather not go into it in a public forum. Had nothing to do with NI, though, only certain individual users.beej wrote:Out of curiosity - what was your beef with NI and/or the user library?

Obviously I respect your decision and right not to disclose the reasons but sorry to hear this and I kinda wish I'd nabbed those last few ensembles you posted when I had a chance too - was unexpected to say the least

Does this mean I won our little ensemble war?

Seriously, whatever the reason, it's your reason, and as someone who frequently does unreasonable things for reasonswhat were convieved as reasonable at the time, I find it reasonable for you to be this unreasonable in taking your stuff down.
Cheers,

Aw Darrell
I read your post this morning. While I might not agree with your conclusions, you've got my support.
You knew that anyways, though...
