1- stretched
2- fired,
3- flanged
...that means at least 36 IR ( of approximativey 1M each, be warned ! )
these "variations" reflects three degrees of turbulence ; the IR in the "flanged" folder , for instance, were threated through the mda detune and therefore is quite influenced by phase cancellations
these samples are based on a previous single synthesizer's note, heavily loaded in harmonic content
The result as IR , sounds quite like a tuned comb filter effect, each of them designed to be played on the his dedicated major scale, as a long drone, giving a very similar mood the sympathetic string of a sitar ( and the tampura as background intrument ) gives to classical indian music
As you may hear, the area of use both in harmonical and rythmical point of view is quite restricted, but as "a way to the land of eternal peace" for ambiant ( and even meditation ) music lovers it can do a wonderful job
A first advice : for the guitar players :
1) choose an IR depending on it scale and then...
2) tune your guitar on open tuning. based on the IR's scale you've choosed ( a "C# " sample for an open tuned guitar in C# for instance )
A second advice :
If you don't want to restrict your instrumental performance at a single scale ( an even at the only Dorian mode of your choosen scale ) just low down the effect level a bit, but i highly suggest anyhow to stay in scales in that these drones are corresponding to
- the Dorian (1st degree : major, minor relative, melodic or harmonic of the same scale) or
- the Myxolidian (5st degree) mode
A last advice :
FEEDBACKS AND COMMENTS ON THESE IR WILL BE REALLY HIGHLY APPRECIATED

and here a use in situation ( a piano sono + its "flanged" drone in C ) :

...have fun !
