I just woke up in the morning and an idea struk me..
wouldnt it be nice to have a tool, that can map a song out - i mean that every sample is put in a different channel, just like you make a song + the full arangement.
Technicaly i thought maybe if the tool could separate samples from the song folloving frequencys and volumes + bredicting the end of a sample.
Ofcourse there are slice tools like recycle and lots of other, that can cut up the beat, but when you have a nice bass humming under everything you can not cut that out, or can you?

this whole thing is just an idea, and for the copyright guys, my idea is not to cut out your miljon dollar samples and use them illlegaly, but to give an ide for developers to produce an inteligent sampling device, plus allowing for instance DJs more freedom when using loops, sequences and fxses.

Am I to understand you mean a multiband, peak-recognizing batch slicer?

I don't understand what you are saying.

If you are saying what you want is to be able to take a finished mix and intelligently strip out and demix all parts into individual isolated samples, then what you are asking for is *extremely* non-trivial and maybe even impossible, for a variety of reasons. It's like taking a souffle and trying to get out the individual ingredients.

If you mean something else, then I don't understand what you want.

my idea was for example to separate a snare and a kick sample from a beat that has kicks and snares layered over each other.
a device that could separate multiple layers into individual.
but im afraid it is impossible.

The thing is, they are not separatable by modern technology. Sure, you could use filters to split lower frequencies into the kick sample, and higher ones into the snare, but this is a really rough way of doing it - the kick will have harmonics that extend into the snare region, and the snare will have some energy lower down, so you don't end up with the original sounds.

It's far easier and quicker to use your brain and grab the sounds you want, and make intelligent processing decisions, rather than expecting a batch process to produce meaningful results.
