i checked the "autofilter" plugin that is built in with Logic on a friend's MAC.I really enjoyed it,as we were working on some beats and we used it alot!very smart plugin
I was wondering if something similar exists for PC vst technology.
thank you in advance.

There are several - one that immediately comes to mind is Classic Autofilter from Kjaerhus Audio

In an attempt of shameless self promotion, I'd suggest having a look at http://www.filterscape.com

Nope usually just the amplitude of the input.Scooner wrote:Thanks Duncan.
So presumably it follows the frequency of the audio?
Or the amplitude of a frequency that YOU choose?
Regarding the frequency you would have to decide - highest or lowest, the medium frequency or frequency with the highest amplitude (there are plenty of parameters especially to the latter two). Might lead to interesting results in some cases, though.
Cheers, Jo

can filterscape sound like a mutron III?
If so I may have to buy.
I have yet to find an computer auto filter that sounds as good as one of those old funk filters.
let me know I'm serous about picking it up.

Been looking for Mutron-filters myself, had some good results with the Topaz Dynafilter2 (free!). Audio Damage released a plug called Phase Two wich is supposed to emulate a Mutronfilterdusted william wrote:can filterscape sound like a mutron III?

...depends on what ya mean by "ultimate"
Quad Fromhage is the ultimate auto filter as far as mod controls goes- you can assign an LFO to nearly all parameters and all the LFO's can be sync'd to beats and divisions...but with that flexibility comes the steep learning curve associated with learning to run the beast...on the plus side- the filters are the best around (arguably, of course- but me likes um...) and there are some nice presets out there on the ohmies site.
Prodyon's E-Fex Pneumo4 is another great alternative with alot of control and is quite a bit easier to manage.

HI
Scamp ... what a filter, but the CPU hit is horendous; you need 1ghz just to run an instance.
Flipper.
