Hi there!

I don't know if it exists but i'm looking for a filter that has ADSR and MIDI IN. I mean that the ADSR enveloppe can be controlled by a MIDI track, so the filter know when there is Note ON/OFF, like a filter on a VSTi...

Like this, i could be able to layer synths for huge leads and make a group for these synths with this filter on it, instead of using the filter of each synth...

Do you think it's possible?

Thanks! :)

It's certainly possible using FL's envelope controller - this is a multi-point envelope that can be triggered by MIDI, and it's output can be used to automate any other parameter.

PSP Nitro

Tried SCAMP yet? http://www.admiralquality.com/products/SCAMP

Doesn't respond to MIDI note on/off but does allow any MIDI CC to mod any of the filter parameters. You can even use pressure.

The envelope follower can also do a lot of ADSR-like stuff (even though it's really only A-R) to an input with a good range of dynamics. Works well on mixed tracks. Also great for reprocessing synths.

Topaz Productions LFO Filter does exactly that.

Thanks for your answers!

I tried PSP Nitro but i didn't manage to do what i wanted to...

Starting from the init patch, what are the parameters i have to change? I tried lots of things, but with no success...

I put in MIDI out of my MIDI track to "PSP Nitro". And in the MOD section, i tried to put "note on" and "note off" to the destination "adsr" with value "100" but it doesn't seem to work...

Can someone help?

Some synths (NI pro 53) comes as FX versions.
Would'nt they do exactly that?
Could be worth examining.

Slightly asside, you could use somthing like energyXT to layer up the synths instead. :hyper:

I'm pretty sure you could turn any filter device with a cutoff control into one controlled by midi triggers, with Plogue Bidule! http://www.plogue.com Not at my music desk until later, but if you want help doing this, I'd be only too happy!

Thanks, but i'm sorry I use cubase sx...

But my question is "how to configure Nitro in order to use ADSR and a MIDI track and to have a Cutoff filter that sounds like the ones on VSTi?"

Like this i could layer synth leads to have a phatt sound and use this filter like it was on the synth...

HELP! :(

What VSTis do you have? Many of them can work as an effect as well. You load the synth as an effect on the track you're processing, then you'll also find it available as a MIDI destination so you can create a MIDI track and route it to that softsynth, without having loaded it into the VST Instruments thingee. ;)

Quad Frohmage can do this, and it's a top-top-top quality filter plugin as well.

This one comes as part of a cheap bundle & can do this among many many other things:
