Hi,
I'm looking for a mac compatible program that would tell me the tempo of loops.
MixMeister BPM Analyzer looks cool but it's only for pc. http://www.mixmeister.com/download_freestuff.html
thanks,

If you have a proper audio editor and a calculator (I bet both exist on the mac) you can do it:
1: Determine the exact length of the loop in seconds.
2: Determine the number of beats (often 4 beats on a 2-second sample)
3: Divide the number of beats by the loop length, and multiply this by 60 again.
You now have the amount of beats that fit in one minute: BPM!

My MusicCalc is temporary offline.

thanks Cookie,
I had seen this before while searching online, but the only problem is that I am not a math woman.
I stink at math, and I am trying to find a shortcut.
I hope to find a program that will figure it out for me.

You don't need to be good at math, you only need to count beats (one two tree four), read out the length of the sample, and let the calculator do the rest:
BPM = beats / secs * 60
I bet I can swing this into a web page in less than 10 minutes, but I'm sure there already exist some... Anyone found one yet??

Here is one.
http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/BeatsMinute.html
With this one you can tap and it calculates tempo.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboar ... idget.html
Here is a widget for Macs. Not sure this one does exactly what you want.

And another one.
