I am posting some rhythm section outtakes from the upcoming March issue of our magazine which should be of particular interest to you songwriters and lead players. We have a story from the new issue which uses a rocking song in the soundtrack with a 12 bar verse structure. It's performed by drums, bass, guitar and some hot boogie woogie piano done in your basic Roadhouse Rhythm style such as can be heard around Austin on any given night.
I converted the loops to 128 bit Mp3 files. They are basically a twelve bar verse (minus vocals) and a twelve bar verse with me playing lead on down'n'dirty harmonica. They're done in the key of "G" and around 100 bpm.
If you're a songwriter, you've got a basic Texas roadhouse band playing accompaniment for your verse structure and a verse of lead to stick in wherever you fancy. If you're a horn, harp, guitar, mandolin, zither or nose flute player who wants to practice your chops with a good Texas band to accompany you, you're in luck.
