Could we be making headway?

Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?

If so, how long before this is up for sale on Esoundz?

Why is the software upgrade $199? The upgrade from Guitar Rig 1 to 2 was only $99. Even DAW upgrades like Sonar and Live are not this much.

it's been up on a few sites for a week or so.... the only one with the upgrade option though is around $170. Search for "amplitube 2" and "cart" and you'll see a few sites offering pre-order (also try substituting "amplitube 2.0").

The difference between GR1 and GR2 is nowhere near the same difference between AT1 and AT2. It's not comparing apples with apples. Only on a very surface level. $199. is an incredible price considering it is a whole new plug-in, not a mere update.

AmpliTube 2 will be on pre-order on esoundz at the beginning of the week. It will be shipping some time in March.

It seems, though, that if I buy the upgrade and the controller I am going to spend about the same amount of money within a few dollars if I had not bought AT1. I really do not see how this upgrade is saving me any money, except for maybe allowing me to buy the software only.

The controller isn't even out yet and the price is not known yet. So, hard to tell. Either way, I think $199 for AT2 is phenominal no matter how you slice it. Look at it like a brand new plug-in. It has been re-written from the ground up. Nice to get a break on it. I believe the price of the regular non-upgrade version is going up to $499 at some point. Even that is worth it so... $199? I'd grab it while you can at that price.

So I'm assuming that if we bought AT1 from you, Squids/esoundz, within the free AT 2 upgade period, you guys will ship it to me? Or will IK be shipping it out?

Sorry if this has already been asked. :)

Thanks.

Last we heard from Squids about this he said that esoundz members who bought from them would automagically get the upgrade when it was available...never hurts to email Trizzle though ;-)

I've finally emerged from GB Hell... yeah!! :P Anyways to add to what beergeek said, the AT2 update will be handled mainly by IK Multimedia, however esoundz members who ordered AT1 from us will get the same special treatment we provided when the ST2.1 disks were released. The main goal as always is to give our customers the best attention that we can. Please stay tuned - I'm sure you'll be notified via a newsletter and/or the website with further instructons on how to proceed with the upgrade (it can't be "automatic" unfortunately). And as always, you can email me directly with any questions or concerns. Thanks guys!

Trizzle. Out.
