Now at alpha 72.
Seems to be a little more cpu efficient.
Real glad to see that they are still working on it :D

no GUI :(

Yeah, no gui - tbh it forces me to concentrate on the actual effect it's having on the sound more, which is a good thing.
I would hope to see a gui version in the future though.

Kjaerhus and Voxengo watch out! This one is serious stuff! I've tried it on one of my mixes (on vocals, bass and guitar) and it sounds GREAT. Not really transparent, but full of character and body. This one is a keeper.

F**k the GUI. Just listen and decide for yourself. :D

How it compares to Marquis Compressor in your opinion? Marquis is my latest advancement, so I usually compare new products to it.

Vanilla compressor features output limiter, but you may use Elephant limiter if you miss that feature in a compressor.

I'm not really an expert on compressors, comparing them & so on.
I tried this one initially as it was free with all the standard control elements, the only slight negative was that I found the cpu highish compared to the GUP demo for instance.
Now that it seems to be slightly more optimised I have no need to look any further - it works & seems (to my relatively untrained ears) to have a nice character.
Bmanic, or one of the others who seems to have a good ear for these things should be able to give a better overall impression of it's comparitive standing.

Marquis is top-notch ofcourse :D . The difference between the two is in my opinion that Vanilla is less transparent; Marquis is more subtle. I don't care much about the limiter; i have HarBal 2.0 for that. Mind you, this is a freebie and a really good one.

The reason i was so enthusiastic is that i find it really great sounding. It sounds different from Marquis though and is closer to the GCO from Kjaerhus.
