no, without cubase there would have been an other pioneer. Who knows, maybe named 'Hoolaboolabase' or 'MidiMasterPro' or 'AtariSafari'bugs wrote:Without Cubase there wouldn't be any "logic" or "reason" in music not to mention any new-endos (virgins) or asios (we all know a few of these) or vstis or vstes. Cubase is to computer music what Jesus is to Christianity, what sex is to sexuality.
God Bless Cubase

this thread seems more heated than the Logic one..
maybe it's just the stupendous amount of warez users that heat things up too much

haha, I love itstag wrote:I don´t think he´s joking, there are studies going even further... one i conducted reached the conclusion it sounds 33% to 37% better than most hosts... excluding logic, which sounds 67% worse than SX due to the lack of harmonic content of 0SX...Juanjo wrote:Josmoker wrote:All the pros use Cubase, that's a fact. Plus Cubase sounds at least 10-20% better than all the other hosts - this has not only been proven by many highly scientific studies but i've come to the same result doing objective listening tests in my listening environment (which has been specifically optimized for host comparisons!).
Follow me, for I have seen the light!
Now, correct me if I am wrong, does samplitude sound 3% or 4% better then SX, for some reason can't remember.

Yes, but only if you use centrinos and have a firewall installed.superddman wrote: Now, correct me if I am wrong, does samplitude sound 3% or 4% better then SX, for some reason can't remember.

We, the SX+XT crowd, should start a club or something. If only they'd fix the mpex-error and give us freezing of group tracks, and let freeze free Powercore ressources and ... na, it's about it.tuzemec wrote:Hi...

One nice thing about Cubase is that it works with everything else. I use it with Reason (and sometimes Live) ReWired and energyXT as a VST(i). The best of all worlds. And freeze is my friend - at least until I can afford a new monster Dual Everything With All The Bells And Whistles DAW
When I was younger I used to be in doubt. These days I'm not so sure.

cubase is father of all Hosts/Sequencer. All others are just inspirations from it or a cheap copy.
is there any third type?

Hey, don't want to be a dick here, but c'mon... there are trackers, modular environments, simple vst hosts without sequencer, simple sequencers without vst support, hosts that focus on workflow (as opposed to bloatedness), etc etc etc There's a lot of different paradigms out there. It's OK if you like Cubase, though.SonicBreeze wrote:cubase is father of all Hosts/Sequencer. All others are just inspirations from it or a cheap copy.

You haven't seen many then, or?OMU wrote:SX3 now is indeed a serious software.
It has the best freeze function I've seen.
Seriously, Samplitudes freeze has got to be the most comprehensive and intuitive like ever. I just wish everybody would copy the way it works.
Cheers!
