m-audio radium 49 will not play vst's in cubase sx3????

I have tried everything and I cannot get the radium 49 to play vst's in cubase sx3. Iwent thru device setup, read manuals, watched video and i still can't get it to work. the midi out in the transport panel shows activity and when I use my mouse the vst works. the controller works in all my other programs except for cubase. please help?????? my interface is a presonus firebox and the radium 49 is connected via usb if this helps. cubase.com has not helped at all but I know you guys can based on the response to some of my previous post. "cubase or sonar which and why" thank for all the help

Go to File->Peferences->Midi and check if Midi Thru Active is checked.

tried that sill nothing. in the mixer I see the meter move when I press key and still no sound. please help i went thru all the setup procedures , i checked usb keyboard in at all locations again please help
