My beef with Live

I'm a PC Cubase user who also owns a copy of Live.
And this is my beef.
When loading Live it asks me to reject every dedicated Cubase plug, and approve few others besides, which means providing at least 20 clicks every time I fire up Live.
This is so tedious.
Loading takes 5 minutes of sitting and answering a shedload of dumb repetitive questions.
I mentioned this to Ableton but their response was:
- create a second plugin directory for plugs I want to use in Live
- get a Mac
These aren't serious answers.
Imagine the nightmare of having to reauthorise dozens of plugs for a second install ... aarrgghh!!
So this is my beef about Live. You heard it here.
Shame really, as the spec offers creative features I like the look of, but the actual business of loading is such a dog that I'll never find out.
Am I missing something?
Can someone save me?

I think Cubase should keep it's own plugs in an other directory
that's what other hosts do with dedicated plugs

Can't you create a Live VST folder and populate it with aliases/shortcuts that point to the VST plugs you want to use in your Cubase directory? I do this with SONAR and Live so that the plugs are all in the same place, but the proprietary stuff is excluded.

its your own fault this time kevvvvv ... you can mod this impending hostwar armageddon yourself ...
... although you DO know the REAL answer here is simply that thats the way it is because cubase is a cubase sucks host ???

This is an interesting idea. I'll try it.Can't you create a Live VST folder and populate it with aliases/shortcuts that point to the VST plugs you want to use in your Cubase directory? I do this with SONAR and Live so that the plugs are all in the same place, but the proprietary stuff is excluded.

Cubase allows multiple vst directories so just move the Steinberg plug-ins to another folder...

This was a problem with an OLD version of Live 5(I believe 5.0.1). Upgrade or whatever you need to do to get 5.0.3 and that problem will disappear. Live seems to be pretty stable these days. When loading Live it asks me to reject every dedicated Cubase plug, and approve few others besides, which means providing at least 20 clicks every time I fire up Live.

Yeah, I think the problem is more with Cubase than Live.
