Just tried out Wow&Flutter and DubbBox2. Wow. I'm going to be having lots of fun with those.

Also, any comments on the reverb? I've been attempting a passable spring 'verb for years now, always abandoning it (I mean, if the big-boys can't even code a 1/2 decent springverb, what chance do I have??)..
In frustration I just stuck with this attempt.. Barely acceptable imo, but super-low cpu and okay in a mix.

It works pretty good, seems to be a bit too dampened in the higher frequencies for a true spring verb, but I'm not complaining. I have a boatload of boutique verbs in Reaktor anyways.stk wrote:In frustration I just stuck with this attempt.. Barely acceptable imo, but super-low cpu and okay in a mix.

The best verbs are the ones you don't consciously hear(as a listener, anyways), and you said it well; it sits real nice in a mix, and for a free verb inside an already great effect, no one is going to complain.
Not without getting a ration of shit from you know who anyways..
Again, I say well-done!
Also, I know you want the donations to the Wildlife fun, and I think that's a real noble thing of you, but if you have bandwidth issues, let us donate something to help you out that way as well.
Cheers,
D

Only other thing about the verb I noticed is 100% wet doesn't quite seem 100% wet.
It's subtle.

The verb's okay-ish.
I was playing with it yesterday, just bringing it in & out to create some movement in the sound, same as I tend to do with reason combinations & retrodelay - & it's fine for that task - tried it as a stand alone just now & I think sickle's right about the dampened nature of the sound, but it works ok within the context of the effect itself.
I'll put a pretty please in here for optional stereo in dubb box also (just been playing with that & the ET-200).

Yeah, I've noticed it depends a lot on the source material (it doesn't have the characteristic boing-splash of a true spring on its own). It's basically a lofi, not-very-diffuse delay network being fed by a resonant bfp to bring out the colouration..Sickle wrote: It works pretty good, seems to be a bit too dampened in the higher frequencies for a true spring verb, but I'm not complaining. Well, I like spring 'verbs to stand out cos I love their sound, but generally yes, that is trueSickle wrote:The best verbs are the ones you don't consciously hear(as a listener, anyways),
I have moved the file repository to some free webspace provided by my ISP, so let's see how long that lasts!Sickle wrote: Also, I know you want the donations to the Wildlife fun, and I think that's a real noble thing of you, but if you have bandwidth issues, let us donate something to help you out that way as well.

If you wanna help out just click those nasty g**gle ads (but you didn't hear it from me!

Well..if you wanted to be TRULY novel..Come up with a 'Bump' button that emulates smacking the spring unit.stk wrote:Well, I like spring 'verbs to stand out cos I love their sound, but generally yes, that is trueSickle wrote:The best verbs are the ones you don't consciously hear(as a listener, anyways),

the spring does need work! the one developer that got close was SimulAnalog there JCM 9000 spring has that boing we all like. so it can be coded stk so don't quit. my 2 cents! take an impulse of a spring then model the impulse

Yeah I've tried the Simanalog jcm900 - nice amp sim, but I wasn't impresed with the verb.. Haven't found one decent spring model out there (apart from impulse responses), and not for lack of trying!the spring does need work! the one developer that got close was SimulAnalog there JCM 9000 spring has that boing we all like. so it can be coded stk so don't quit. my 2 cents! take an impulse of a spring then model the impulse
Personally I use my own Space Echo impulses in SIR, works really well (apart from the latency issue).
Actually, Voxengo's impulse insert thing is pretty good (but it is also an impulse response 'verb, and fairly heavy on the cpu, in my experience).
I should add that I don't really code my plugins, I use Synthedit.. Which means I'm limited by the current modules available, and to my knowledge no-one has dropped a (de)convolution module yet..

That's just a matter of pumping a low freq pulse thru the unit (like, say, a lpf'd bass drum) - but again, it requires a decent spring verb in the first place..Sickle wrote:Well..if you wanted to be TRULY novel..Come up with a 'Bump' button that emulates smacking the spring unit.

Since this topic is hijakced anyhow... On the spring reverb tip, have you ever tried using the Arturia Arp 2600 as an effect? It has a really good spring sound.

STK, I get endless bandwidth with my free ispspace. so I would be more than happy to mirror or host your plugins, that's the least I can do for your simply lovely plugins
Just PM me with a address to download all your plugins and I'll send you the link to the mirrored archive
